Welcome to the New Pie Splat Version 2.0
These are the major changes in the piesplat:
1) Doorway is no longer required to run piesplat.
2) The sysop may terminate the game locally and bring the user
back to the board.
3) If there are not enough players to start the game you are
notified of this and brought directly back to the board instead
of through the playing screen.
4) Old bug fixed where if game had not started and you call back
later that same day and it had started, you will not be able to
play.
5) A password routine has been added to remove an unregistered
version routine. The purchaser and the BBS name is printed
on the screen of the registered version. An appeal is made for
the users to register the game if it is used.
6) The install program has been updated making the setup and updating
hopefully easier for the sysop to maintain.
7) New game start routine has been added to the install to remove
old files no longer needed.
8) The game will now work with multi-nodes. It will update the players
file.
What is PieSplat?
Piesplat is a Shareware program. It is an interactive game for Wildcat
bulletin boards versions 2.1 or better. The game can be adjusted to play
with up to 20 players per game. Users are given pies to throw at each
other each day, they may steal pies from other users and also set traps
and write brief snide remarks to each other also.
Is the Game fun?
Everywhere the game is played the Sysops have made comments how the users
enjoy picking on each other, especially the sysop. The game promotes
calling in daily for the greatest chances of winning plus it is a very
good game for getting what are normally quiet non-speaking users talking
to each other.
Inspiration of the game:
This game evolved out of the message area of my Board. User's come in
for poking fun at each other so we just made a game out of that. It
users to pick on each other in fun.
Try the game:
We hope your user's find the game as much fun as mine do. We have run
for a couple years now and it never ceases to generate interest. We do
ask that after completing a couple games that you or one of your user's
register the game.
My apology for the password routine but the game generated a total of 4
registrations in the past year. I do realize the game had draw back
since it required Doorway to operate, But now that problem has been
solved.
Support:
Well I hope you will not need any because the game has been tested well
for several years now and hopefully will not need much support. But
should a problem arise don't hesitate to write.
Test it Locally by typing "Piesplat Local"
Setting it up: Simple, run the pieinst.exe file making sure your paths are
correct, it run fine as a door by itself, not requiring any help
from doorway or any other door managing program.
Once the proper paths are set up then all that is needed to run the game
is move to the directory of piesplat and have the door#.bat type Piesplat.
Example of my Door5.bat
cd\tag\door\pie
piesplat
cat
Setting up on multi-nodes
In order to meet the needs Piesplat will allow you to pass a parameter
for the configuration file you want to use. I suggest you create the
pie.cfg file and then edit it with a standard ascii editor.
So your bat file will be slightly different as above it will include
piesplat (filename)
if no parameter is passed to the program it will default to pie.cfg
Recommendation...... Set up two Piesplat games so one can be registering
while the other is playing. That way when one game finishes the other
may start immediately. All you have to do is reset the minimum number
of players to start the game.
Included files: Piesplat.exe : main program
Pieinstl.exe : install program
Pie.doc : This file
Created files: Players.txt : Keeps up with players and scores (ascii file)
pie?.hst : History file for each player to let them
know what was done to them and by whom
Pie.cfg : Set up information for information
Kolor.cfg : Customized color for your game
Screen/bbs : Screen of your naming for bulletins etc
Shows previous winners and current leader.
( A Piesplat Hero Screen)
Files used: Dorinfo1.def : Looks for this file created by Tag BBs
Disclaimer: Of course I do not assume any responsibility for the way
the program behaves in your computer. I assume no liability
for anything piesplat or it's related files do to your
machine or existing file.
Registration: Only asking for $15 for this fine program.
Check made out payable to me

Please include the name of the buyer to be given
credit for paying for the game and the exact name of
the BBS...... Capital letters make a difference.
You will be returned a password that will work then on
only your Board.
Your registration will entitle you to any future upgrades
of this program hopefully I will never have to change
the password routine but if I do I will send you a new one.
Special instructions:
Inside the install program the sysop has the option to
change the odds. This will slow the game down without
making if unfair for anyone person. I sometimes use it
when one person gets way out in front of the others. What
it allows is for the other users to gang up on the leader
and will make the game more competitive.
The rest of the game is simple enough that no playing
instructions are needed. The user is given an option to
use the Help screen from the opening screen by typing "H".
Piesplat will run only on Ibm compatible and was written to
run with Wildcat only but with some of the conversion
programs out there should be no problem running it
on others boards. If Pie Splat does not find Callinfo.bbs
file it will ask the user for his name to be typed in
but I don't recommend using it that way because of typos.

Other games written for distribution are:
Outrageous Statements! Users try to guess who made the
statements for points. Has proven to be lots of fun!
Shocase: Ansi screen viewer. Users can send their favorite
ansi-screens to be viewed by all via Zmodem.
Blankity Blank: Remember those Crazy Mad Libs where you
would read a story where players had given inserted parts
of speech like nouns verbs etc... now it is in computer
form! Users may also upload their own directly into
the game via Zmodem. Great fun!
Nerd Hang : a new twist to hangman!
Classified Ads : Users can post their ads directly to board
under categories.
YrBible : Gives screen showing daily reading to go through
the Bible in one year
Bread: Daily Bread quotes from the Bible. Much better
than showing horoscopes.
Learnit: Allows sysop to set up a series of screens.
can be for ads, or something for the new users. Great
for advertisements, upcoming event notices, club info.

fee returned and be granted a free registrations for these
